Student out of Cast Iron

In the front yard of the "Schule Schloss Kefikon", a school which is based in a castle, the centre sculpture which depicts a student welcomes the pupils. It suits, even the sculpture counts a few more years than its classmates.

The sculpture originates from France – more precisely from the art foundry Val d'Osne in Paris – and was manufactured in the 19th century. Meanwhile, she was newly patinated and placed in front of the castle Kefikon in Switzerland, which was first mentioned in 1241. Today, the property serves as a school and presents itself with castle, garden and matching sculpture as a beautifully composed educational institution for young people, which is unlikely to be found anywhere else in this form.
